Balance reiterated by juxtaposition: a wrap top in a rather playful print paired with a straightforward, boyish trouser, and accessorized with chunky combat boots and an office-appropriate tote bag. What do you get? Something that, at first thought, seems out of the ordinary and maybe even out of place, but actually feels just right after successfully romping around town looking as such.

At a glance, this subdued yellow might seem unconventional as a polish, but its charm really shines when it's finally applied. It's subtle but slightly bold, understated but chic, relatable but unique all at once. And while J. Hannah's entire line of nail lacquer offers the best set of neutral colors, "Miso" is my favorite for its interestingly colorful approach into the neutral zone. It's perfect year-round really, but donning this muted pastel hue during spring and summer seems especially appropriate.

Right off the bat, I ought to say that I'm not much of a lipstick person, much less one for the matted variant. BUT! This Velour Extreme Matte lipstick collection from Laura Mercier is a game changer. True to its name, the product is velvety smooth, very pigmented and actually long lasting. Like, you-can-eat-and-not-feel-like-you-have-lipstick-on-and-only-reapply-once-in-a-day long lasting. It's honestly hard to pick one swatch, because every single hue is wondrous, but if I *had* to whittle it down to my top five, they would be: "On Point" - a bright and fun neon orange, "Vibe" - a cool and relaxed pinkish beige (what I'm wearing above), "Fierce" - an alluring milky chocolate, "Fire" - a fiery reddish orange reminiscent of a sultry night in southern Italy, and "Power" - a sophisticated-but-fun berry burgundy hue.

This set of shampoo and conditioner does what it says it does- it plumps and strengthens and refreshes. But what I love most about these two, and about the Kevin Murphy hair brand in general, is that I generally feel like I have to wash my hair less often after using. It stays feeling clean (without ever giving me that 'stripped' clean feeling), AND my hair smells amazing for at least two days following the wash. Everytime I tousle my hair or run my fingers through the top of my head, I still get whiffs of this wash and I love it.

If you're like me and you often feel sore, or if you have a hard time falling asleep or even just feeling relaxed, these CBD gumdrops from Lord Jones are your answer. Lord Jones makes an array of CBD-infused products but these all natural, old-fashioned confections are seriously some of the best cannibis products out there in general. After having one, I feel calmer and relieved, and sometimes I'll even pop one for that time of the month. They're non-psychoactive so it's a treat and treatment in one! On a side note, Lord Jones also regularly hosts medicated sound baths (electronic mixes) around Los Angeles - if you're interested in attending, you should follow them to look out for upcoming opportunities.

When it comes to working out, I get bored pretty easily so it's important that I get to hop around to various studios and attend any class at any time. Classpass lets me do that. I've taken over a hundred classes, everything from (hot) yoga to boxing to pilates to HIIT/circuit training to barre to vertical climbing and power plate exercising. Better yet, the app works on a credit system (each class is worth a different amount, depending on the length and time of the day), which allows you to set your schedule month to month however you see fit-- if you're feeling really inspired to work out one month, you can purchase a bigger package and have the ability to attend 10-14 classes. Conversely if you're strapped for time in the next month and can only manage three or four classes a month, there's a tier perfect for that as well. I truly love the versatility and freedom I get with Classpass. If you've never tried it, use my referral link for $40 off your first month. Springtime is my favorite season for working out-- the weather is right and coming out of hibernation I begin to feel excited and motivated for summer, so if you feel the same, go out and do something! Once you find your favorite studios, it's worth it, I promise.

It is not very often that I feel completely wowed by a makeup product, but these are the most recent ones to make me feel that way. I've been recommending these blushes to just about everyone I know. The texture is light and and the finish gives you the most natural, gorgeous flush. In all honesty, all of these colors are flattering--I just added the limited edition "Hot Tin Roof" to the arsenal this past month--and sometimes I'll even mix two colors to get a slight variation. A little goes a reeeally long way, so I feel that you really get your bang for the buck.

For someone who has a hard time falling and staying asleep, this sleep pen from Dosist has become a vital part of my nightly routine. It'll get me sleeping in no time and keep me sleeping soundly. I started using this after I would get clogged up from allergies (and therefore had trouble falling asleep), and now I continue to use it just because I generally wake up the next day feeling so refreshed after doing so. Definitely recommend!

Even though we have really mild winters in Los Angeles, my hands still manage to dry out and crack quite a bit. This hand creme from Oribe has grown to be one of my favorites - it's rich and truly moisturizing for hours. After continued use, I noticed it repaired my dry skin and kept it soft and moisturized for a while, so the effects seem to be long lasting. This hand creme is a pretty penny but worth the investment.

Scrunchies! What's not to love? They're fun. They add a nice touch to your bun or ponytail. They make you feel like you're wearing a corsage. They also surprisingly hold really well and rarely snag your hair. I got my assorted pack of 12 on Amazon here.

After getting into bullet journaling in 2017, I decided this year that I would get more creative with layouts, colors and such. Leave it up to these Zebra mildliner pens to amp it up. These pens are perfect for your usual highlighting, but do well for regular coloring, too. And the colors are PERFECT. I get that weird, giddy feeling I used to get on the first day of school with my fresh school supplies whenever I use these.

Combining denim and a starry pattern in an ode to welcoming spring in none other than rag & bone, one of my favorite brands of all time. It's a label that's synonymous with the effortlessly cool, that's fun but grown, that's mostly casual but usually thoughtful - something that I've always associated with spring styling.

As mentioned previously, this year I'm trying to widen my sartorial reach to more prints and patterns, and try sophisticated silhouettes while maintaining the casual, simple aesthetic that I normally go for. These spring/summer pieces from rag & bone strike the perfect balance between the fresh and familiar:

Sadly I did not make it out to Coachella this year, but I do look forward to the carefree air that seems to follow the festival season. I feel like festival season is the marker of the brink of summer: the desert tones, balmy bodies, the juxtaposition between the vibrant and fun and the modest and minimal, and that laissez-faire modus. All of these things are encapsulated in Eggie, the uber cute yet spunky brainchild of the ever so adorable Jenn Im. As a fellow Angeleno and festival fiend, I feel like she just gets 'it' and how to dress in warmer weather. Many of the pieces in her collection seem to fit just right even for petites and the vertically challenged, which is a major plus. Peep some of my favorite pieces for spring and summer below:

Hi guys! AHH, in the blink of an eye, it seems as if spring has arrived... it especially seems that way on here. Needless to say, I've been posting more consistently on Instagram and Stories but decided I should link you guys to more options here as I'd gotten quite a few inquiries about this top. You guys know I'm not normally one for colorful garb (although I think I'm open to turning a new leaf on that front), so instead of jumping right into an explosion of color, I decided that I'll take it easy this transitional season and go for sheer pieces or an exaggerated cut instead... and then maybe slowly edge into that polychromatic zone. Think: neutrals in tulle, polka dots, texture, ruffles, layers, because monochromatic can still be vibrant and feminine. For those who feel the same, here are some alternatives to typical, colorful spring styles:

On that previous note, I know this place has been collecting a bit of dust over the past couple months and I've actually gotten a few concerned emails and DMs about it, but I promise I haven't forgotten about this space of mine. I've been steadily thinking about ways to improve this site, hopefully making it less of a landing page and more of a digital home, to make it feel more like myself and the ways I've grown outside of this realm of fashion and beauty. I'm hoping to bring it back to life soon enough. Until then, there will be a few posts scattered here and there. Thanks for sticking around and being patient x

It seems as if my most treasured wardrobe items are the ones that I've imagined wearing at least twenty times over, or have actually been worn fifty-some times. Cue my most-tried-and-true of them all: this perfectly worn-in, oversized turtleneck knit that I'd gotten maybe five+ years ago, and have worn consistently every season since. The best pieces to go for are the ones that you can wear year after year, because those are the ones that'll stick around through the major stages in life, and they're the ones that will probably blend the easiest with the trends in the years to come. Go for something that is classic with a little bit of edge, a little detail that ties it in with you.

Beyond skin deep

As each year passes, my months grow rife with concerns over changing skin. There seems to be a new issue every year: the last, lines started settling in, and this year my pores decided they finally wanted to show up. Now I know no one can escape entirely from the grips of gravity, but there are a number of precautions we can take to slow that process down. Here are a few things I've been diligently pursuing to decelerate the impending circumstance that is aging:

1. Drink your water - as simple as this is, this can't be iterated enough. Last year I justified coffee and smoothies as my water intake, and I feel like my body/skin definitely paid for that. This year I am holding myself accountable by first drinking water and then other types of liquids if necessary (this way, I'm also hoping to decrease my coffee/fructose/sugar intake-- win/win). Here's a tip-- track your H2O consumption in your journal or planner, and make it easy to track by utilizing a sole water canteen to drink from. Knowing that my canteen holds about 22 oz, I would need to take in three full pours a day to amount to 64 oz (the recommended eight glasses of water/day).

2. Have a skincare routine for night and morning! I'm no stranger to stringent regimens in the PM, but I've recently incorporated some key products for AM application, too. I started using OLAY's Luminous Whip face moisturizer in the mornings and it's proven to be really helpful in more ways than one. True to its name, it's super lightweight, it absorbs into the skin very quickly, and it feels cool and sort of hydrating all at once. It also seems to minimize pores by mattifying the skin, which makes for an excellent foundation for makeup (though in these photos I'm not wearing any makeup, just the cream--it's pretty amazing). So I feel it's ideal for even the busiest of mornings, with it taking care of the mattifying, the moisturizing, the priming, and the pore-reducing needs. Better yet, I noticed when reading the label that one of its main ingredients is niacinamide (more commonly known as vitamin B3) and that's important because it boosts collagen production and helps improve our lipid barriers so that our skin is more apt to retain moisture (which is maybe the most concerning for me as I grow older). The whipped formula also has 'Active Rush Technology', which instantly absorbs moisture into the skin for all-day hydration and instant skin brightening.

3. Try adding skincare tools to your regimen. Recently I started using an LED device for light therapy and a facial roller to tighten and de-puff. Infrared light is believed to stimulate proteins like collagen and elastin, and increase circulation (things we start to lack as we grow older). So far, my skin feels more taut after each use; pores and lines are minimized and my complexion just seems brighter and rejuvenated overall. I've found that when paired with an excellent cream, the results are even better and quickly achieved.

4. Practice mindfulness - in everything you do: exercise, nutrition, the amount of rest you get and conversely, your stress levels. Learning to be more aware of what your skin, body, and mind need and catering to that is a good step in feeling great comprehensively. Personally I get anxious and stressed out quite easily, and in realizing ways I could remedy that, I'm attempting to work out more, eat better food, and carve out time to meditate each night. Beauty is more than skin deep!

Since the start of the new year I've been really drawn to good energy, new ideas, and great conversation; so please let me know of your unique self-care routine and tips and/or any new products you've found to be helpful to your wellbeing overall. If anyone else has tried the OLAY Luminous Whip, I'd also love to hear your thoughts!

A power suit, to me, looks something like this.

More often than not, it's a blend of high and low in the literal and figurative sense: a five-dollar thrifted blazer paired with a designer bag, a high slit accompanied by a low-hanging hem, or the juxtaposition between a classic silhouette, a dainty print, and the kind of boots that make airport security do a double take.

It is the feeling of discovering your delta, that unique factor that draws from all of your facets and letting that shine.

Are floral patterns more suited for fashion exclusive to warmer months? Overloading on floral prints might sound overwhelming and incompatible with standard wintry wear but I think when done right, it's a fresh pattern to don on colder days. It works so long as the overall tone of the piece leans more neutral (like this Calvin Klein dress, even with the short hem) or if the pattern is against a dark canvas like this dress worn above (similar here and here), or perhaps layered over sheer leggings or thigh-high boots. The bright embroidery against black mesh breathes a bit of life into what would be an otherwise tediously dismal winter get-up. I'm all for that sweet balance.

It turns out, I really like the pairing of circular accessories against the backdrop of straight cut trousers. Although I mostly like my style to be grounded by bigger, every-day pieces (e.g. coats, trousers, shoes), I'm beginning to feel like personality is best accentuated by accessories. Here's to finding my way through more rigid lines, squiggly sleeves, gold plates, silver surfaces and rounded objects.

True story: I wore pretty much the same thing every day during my seven-day trip to the South this past week…and I was perfectly happy with my uniform. As much as I appreciate having a plethora of sartorial options, there are few things I love more than a peace of mind. That peace, for me, is having fewer style choices... albeit from a well-curated and better-loved wardrobe. This idea anchors my decision making when considering on adding a new treasure to the mix—is it made of quality? Is it unique to me? Can I recycle this in my wardrobe in the years to come? Is it reasonably priced for what it is?

Generally the item has to check off at least three of the four criteria above: and this Chanel Wallet on Chain, the latest member of the family, checks off all four and came with a bonus – it was scored on StockX.

What is StockX? It’s the first digital stock market for finding and purchasing the things you actually want (to possibly keep forever). I’d had ideas of what I wanted in my first Chanel bag—it needed to be versatile, transitional and practical—and I was able to track down exactly that on StockX. I’d perused pre-loved Chanel bags in person in the past and the act of scouring for the perfect bag and the idea of offering a price in real life intimated me to no end, so I was really drawn to the buying process on StockX. You have two ways to purchase a bag: you can either buy at the listed price or place a bid and wait to hear from the seller. If both parties agree, then the offer is complete.

To make the process of finding your dream bag easier, StockX authenticates all items you buy before they get to you, so you never have to worry about getting a bag that isn’t genuine. Frankly, I was convinced when I realized I could rest easy about authentication and save a considerable amount on a like-new dream bag (mine came in mint condition, was very, very happy).

I wanted a Chanel bag that matched my style and lifestyle, one that was easy-going, portable, subtle, a little spunky but also equal parts classy… one that I could admire while it hung in my closet and also wear with just about any outfit. I’m not surprised StockX helped me track it down but totally relieved I can finally put this search to rest. I’d recommend trying the StockX app or website to find that bag you’ve been eyeing for years (and get $50 off your first purchase while doing so)!
