Since I have some down time while everyone else in my family is occupied with babies, playing Kinnect and Axis & Allies, I thought I'd blog about one of my favorite party dresses to wear for the holidays. I had to run by TJ's and got to grab a latte from Urth before heading out to my Christmas dinner yesterday, and was told by so many strangers that this dress was just perfect for Christmas. The weather had actually lightened up just in time and it was warm enough to step out in a dress. White, and anything embellished seemed appropriate for the festivities and this dress meshes the two things just right. Hope you all are enjoying your Christmases! Much love.
Forever21 dress, Joe's Jeans leather jacket, Sigerson Morrison boots, Karen Walker sunglasses
Happy Friday! The past five days made up seemingly the longest week of the year with the next week and a half off to look forward to. Winter just broke through last week and it’s making me want to stay indoors and cuddle up with a good read. Guess that’ll take up the majority of my time.
This dress I knew would be a favorite of mine as soon as I tried it on at Forever. I've been really good staying away from Forever21 but sometimes you just find really good stuff you can't not take home with you. Yeah, it’s a high-low dress and we’re all pretty much over that now but I kind of like the drastic dip and straight cuts, and the ways the fabric overlap each other with each stride. Can’t wait to wear it more when it gets warm again.
Elizabeth & James blouse, Romwe vest, A|X Armani Exchange snake print pant, Joe's Jeans leather jacket, Alexander Wang tote
Kicked off the weekend and the beginning of the holidays with a small dinner party, and decided it was the perfect occasion to wear these snake-print trousers from A|X Armani Exchange. I love wearing a bunch of silver during this time of the year, and these pants definitely get the job done. A little bit of sheen and some print = I'm all #DressedFor #Party in A|X Armani Exchange. What’re you guys all wearing as holiday parties begin to pop up?

Can't wait to kick back and enjoy the coming holidays. Christmas and New Year's have always been my favorite holidays- they've always brought on lazier Sundays, a bunch of holiday get-togethers with people you don't see too often, and just a time of inexplicable cheer for me. Looking forward to snuggling up, two dogs on either side, in my bed and catching up on novels, too.
Shop Sosie top, Forever 21 skirt, Rag & Bone boots, Karen Walker sunglasses, Madewell belt, Melie Bianco bag
...there's an invincible summer in LA. Only this week it's felt truly chilly with the hard rain but I swear on weekends, it feels like spring with crisp 75-degree weather. (Some of you emailed me and asked me how on earth I could stand wearing skirts and shorts in late-November/mid-December.) Anyway, very much appreciating this cheap skirt for its flounce and pleats and all that good stuff. Love that it's in a plain white and blue, which makes the floral-ness of it more in line with what I'd wear. Paired it with a baseball tee with faux leather sleeves and non-black boots (gasp) for good measure. I know I say this a lot about my boots, but believe me hard on this one--these suede Newburys (also now 30% off) are my favorite! They're the most comfortable 3" heeled boots, ever, PRE-break in period.
PacSun sequin skirt, Zara sandals
Mixing up a bit of glam with some grunge. Ever since I laid my eyes on that one blue sequined IRO jacket, I had been longing to get my hands on something similar. This Blaque Label skirt from PacSun does the job, and then some with that badass thigh-high slit. Love the bright blue against wild, lush greenery.
Tarte eyeliner, Karen Walker sunglasses
I had been using my MAC Fluidline eyeliner for what seemed like for-ev-er, and when I finally reached a small-enough mound, I went on a search for something better. I liked MAC's Fluidline but it would last fewer hours as I used more of it and I felt like it stiffened my lids a bit. To add, I don't necessarily like MAC's ingredients.
Finding good and effective makeup made without parabens and synthetic ingredients is so hard to do, as I'm sure most of you know. So I was really excited to come across Tarte's EmphasEYES Waterproof Clay Liner, because it's made without the junk and it works absolutely great. The Amazonian clay-based liner is so silky smooth and it really does stay in place for the entire day. To vouch for this, my lids have worn it for at least 12 hours without reapplying--amazing. And it comes with a double-ended brush, which is a win-win all on its own... just thought I'd pass along a good product to any of you who are in the market to buy a new eyeliner!
Forever 21 sweater, Madewell lace shorts, Karen Walker sunglasses, Sigerson Morrison boots, Vanessa Mooney necklaces
Went out for a really late brunch this Sunday when the rain allowed some time for the sun to shine. It was weird weather we had—wet and rainy but almost warm, at least warm enough to wear shorts. These Madewell shorts, as stated before, are absolutely golden. I feel like I can wear everything else casual (as I normally do) and these lace shorts will take care of the rest.
Layered my boyfriend’s coat over it all for some decent coverage against the rain. It’s a good thing he likes to wear things fitted, which means I could borrow from him and literally wear “boyfriend-inspired” pieces without spending extra bucks and creating non-existent closet space.
