Zara dress, vintage belt
The photo above pretty much sums up what my weekend's going to look like: black dresses, night time, and heels. Heading out to Vegas for an overdue birthday celebration! Be back in a few days, and by then I'm sure I'll be yearning for fresh air and wholesome food. Keep up with the shenanigans through Instagram (@neonblush), happy Friday! Xx
Mink Pink sweater, BB Dakota skirt, Le Mont St. Michel top, Alexander Wang tote, Zara shoes, Luv Aj choker
Felt like prancing around 3rd St. in a peachy keen and comfortable ensemble last weekend, something that I picture myself wearing if I were going to Coachella this year. I had planned on going--and even had the pleasure of unwrapping and opening the beautiful Coachella packaging--but I ended up having to forfeit the wristband. Bummer.
...Which is why I'm excited to team up with Threadsence to give away one $100 giftcard to shop their amazing Coachella-inspired lookbook! Coachella, whether you're attending or not, is an exciting time all around. I mean, have you SEEN the lookbook? Jaws were dropped and eyes were widened when they released it a couple weeks ago. Seriously.
To enter the giveaway:
1. Comment on this post with a link to your favorite piece/look from the lookbook here
2. For an EXTRA entry, like Threadsence's Facebook page, or follow them on Pinterest, be sure to leave your name and/or Pinterest link if you do!
The giveaway is open internationally and to the US, from today to next Wednesday the 4th of April, 11:59pm. Good luck :)
Topshop cardigan, Old Navy denim jacket, DV by Dolce Vita top, Zara trousers, Jeffrey Campbell boots, Melie Bianco bag, YSL ring, J.Crew cuff
This weekend was all about catching up on leisure reads and discovering spots to eat. So far, I'm two for two with adding new places to my list of absolute favorites, woot. Two weekends in a row now we were greeted with remarkably chilly weather, and only this time around was I somewhat prepared, what with the thick denim jacket and cozy cardigan and all. This short-sleeved, dotted top from DV has surprisingly easy mixing ability, making it my choice of collared blouses at the moment. Same goes with this stinking cute tasseled bag from Melie Bianco! There are so many zips that you get to play pseudo designer and pretty much contort the bag into all sorts of pouch-shapes.
The Beso.com giveaway is still open until Monday, the 26th at 11:59pm. Enter!
Equipment blouse, Moroccan Oil mousse, J.Crew cuff, Luv Aj choker, See by Chloe iPad case
My most recent (and current favorite) purchases: 1) the unequivocally perfect silk blouse in an utmost perfect champagne-y color from Equipment (similar one here) seems to go with a lot of the other neutral-shaded pieces in my closet; 2) the mousse that does the job but doesn't feel mousse-y, ah, thank you Moroccan Oil... you even make my hair smell that much better; 3) the gold cuff from J.Crew, thick but small enough to accessorize with a lot of things; 4) the necklace I can't seem to peel from my neck and clavicle bones, ugh I love it; and 5) a dainty-but-straight-forward case for one of my other latest splurges, the new iPad.
Okay, so I guess I have been spending a bit - I'm going to eat my words from this post. Sometimes, a dip in spending just facilities a huge peak in spending, and right now I'm experiencing that peak. Still coveting these sunglasses from Karen Walker, this pair of undone cut-off shorts in such a good berry/peachy hue from 7 For All Mankind, and Dannijo's simplistic Nicoline necklace...
vintage silk top, Kasil Workshop boyfriend trousers, Zara sandals & bag, Forever 21 cuffs
A couple weekends ago the bf and I spent a whole day as tourists in our own turf, starting with brunch at - you guessed - Bottega Louie. It's been two or three times since I've eaten there, and still I can't bring myself to like/love it as much as other people do. The wide open space and pristine walls are the only thing that lock it in for me. Not even their macarons get me, and if you follow my Instagram (@neonblush), you'd know that I'm an absolute macaron fanatic. Still, the food looked pretty and it was fun scoping out old and new LA spots with my love.
The $150 Beso.com giveaway is still open, more details here. Good Wednesday, folks x!
Zara tank, UO bralette, Kasil Workshop boyfriend shorts, Zara sandals, Ray Ban sunnies
Initially, I had felt a sort of hatred towards daylights saving last Sunday - I had places to go and things to do, but my attempting to wake up early to get things done still seemed pointless. But, losing an hour has made coming home from work so much more enjoyable - it's nice after a long day at work to get to enjoy the warm sun. We've been having gorgeous weather lately... but next week, it's dipping into the mid-50s. That's, um, freezing in So Cal terms. Not sure how my immune system is handling the bi-polar weather, bah.
Gonna toot my own horn for a quick bit here. For the past few months, I've been awfully proud of my spending habits. Buying basics, trying to invest only in what I think are special and re-mixable pieces, like this plain black lyocell tank from Zara (neon version seen here). Spring, notwithstanding this weekend's cold and rainy forecast, is almost here and I'm actually pumped to do some spring cleaning next week. Hoping to update my blog shop soon... keep your eyes peeled. Happy Thursday xx.
Frank Ocean & Coldplay - Strawberry Swing
Zara ombre blouse, Le Mont St. Michel top, Kasil Workshop artisan shorts, Zara sandals, YSL ring, Michael Kors watch, Forever 21 and J.Crew bracelet, H&M choker
After having recently written a quick blurb for Chictopia's Everybody Is Ugly (here) on how to incorporate statement accessories into your spring wardrobe, I found my way back to wearing a little more jewelry and accessories again. Gold always contrasts nicely with cool blue, and this ombre Zara top is way, way cool. Anyway, check out the short write-up to see what I'm ogling over for the spring season.
What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend actually felt like a long, wrought-out list of to-dos squeezed into two days... but, I did get the chance to check out the Rose Bowl Flea Market! It only occurs once a month and I've been trying to get my arse out there for a year and a half, do I feel accomplished? Heck yeah. Awesome place for home decor and furniture! Too bad I didn't walk out with vintage jewelry that I had gone in to look for; instead I unearthed two awesome belts, which is still fine by me. Hoping to try out the Melrose Trading Post next... any one been?
Mink Pink skirt c/o Dear Fieldbinder, Zara eyelet vest & jacket, Theyskens' Theory boots, Ray Ban sunnies, Zara bag, vintage belt
As you can see from my past posts here and here, I am obsessed with skirts in this cut/shape. This outfit I actually wore two(?) weeks ago, and I am still loving the color and the cute buttons spliced down the middle... makes for a playful, innocent look. Speaking of this shape, how good is this Proenza Schouler skirt? I'm (especially) lusting after everything Proenza at this hour, and it's definitely not healthy when I can't seem to take my glued eyes away from the screen to get some much-needed shuteye. Oy.
Aside from riding out the weather roller coaster this week, I'm looking forward to doing some vintage shopping this weekend. I'm really bummed I (nor my friends) couldn't get my hands on those leather slingbacks or the leather jacket from Marni x H&M, but I think I've come to terms that shopping at nonsensical hours is never going to work out for me. Boo hoo.
Romwe star-print top, Kasil Workshop cropped skinnies, Zara sandals & bag, Michael Kors watch
Finally, a post more up-to-date for the new month: my latest 'do, my new favorite pants (ever), and these sandals I still am not tired of. I realized after looking back at the photos taken that I am sort of reminiscent of the American flag but... um, yeah that wasn't intentional. Stars, and stripes and the colors red and blue just seem to magnetize each other.
About these pants: it's a cropped skinny called the "Rail" and it's pretty much simplicity in a pant, perfected. It fits me like a glove, and the thin-stripe detail goes with anything, dressed up or down. I've gotten a lot of email inquiries about where to buy Kasil, because it's only exclusively sold in certain boutiques, Nordstrom's, and Bloomingdale's. It's unfortunately hard to track down such good bottoms... BUT if you're in LA, this pair is available at Madison, Satine, and Ron Herman.
So here it is, the second "issue." I had so much fun with the first/last one that in the last two days I decided to let the little creative juices go and whip up one for February. Narcissistic, it seems, to be re-posting all these pictures that I've already posted but--really--I'm in it for the design and layout! I've had to refrain myself from re-designing my actual blog a hundred times so I guess I'm channeling all that energy towards this. You can probably expect to see this happening monthly.
