A few readers have asked what the inside of my bag looked like. Nothing mind-blowing, as you can see, but at least this post was fun. I might very well just do another one soon - the insides of my bag are always changing.
The Kasil Workshop giveaway ends at 11:59 tonight. Enter here for a chance to win two pairs of their amazing jeans! Good luck!
Lamb & Flag cardigan, Zara silk top and bag, Helmut Lang shorts, Jeffrey Campbell boots, Michael Kors watch, JewelMint bracelet, Courtney Kaye bangles
Cheers to a weekend well spent: Thanksgiving food galore and finally, rest long overdue. Of course, I put off emails and other equally important things like trying to get to revamping my blog like I had told myself to a month ago. I realize it is the 21st century and I should be responding in a timely manner but sometimes, kicking back and enjoying the perfect 75-degree weather is just so much more pleasant.
Speaking of emails, I've gotten a few asking about my skincare regimen - normally I would find this topic sort of dull, but lately I've been stocking up on certain products I've come to love and swear by. Will share soon. In the mean time... enter this Kasil Workshop giveaway while you still can, it's open until tomorrow at 11:59pm so get your entries in!
P.S. some readers have asked me to create a Facebook page for updates and whatnot, but I don't think I'm ready for that yet. If you've got Instagram, find me at @_jennyong for personal pictures not posted here. Happy Monday x!
Forever 21 jumper, J Brand coated skinnies, Trend Essentials satchel, Zara pumps, Michael Kors watch, H&M choker
Everybody needs a 'fall-back' formula - you know, like your comfortable combination of top and bottom that you can use over and over again, for those days you feel completely lazy and mindless. Nearly two weekends ago, I wore something very similar to this outfit to the Thread Show I got invited to in downtown. I had a good time, and I definitely savored it since it was a couple of days before I fell sick. I THINK I've fully recovered just yesterday afternoon and I cannot feel more thankful for my health - right in the knick of time for the Thanksgiving cheer.
Kasil Workshop 'After Dark' skinny, Gap 1969 jacket, Forever 21 cropped jumper, Zara gingham top, Novelty Lane necklace, Steve Madden wedges
I wouldn't normally hold a giveaway unless I really liked the product or the company, so you can guess how much I love Kasil Workshop - you know, the brand I pretty much always wear for when I'm on a denim kick. My friends over at Kasil want to gift one of my readers a pair of these slightly-coated dark black skinnies (the "After Dark," a black staple skinny you'd definitely want in your closet) and another pair in the fit that they love. TWO pairs of premium denim jeans - sweet! What you've got to do to enter:
1. 'Like' Kasil Workshop's Facebook page
2. Leave a comment here (full name, email included) telling me what your favorite fit is
You can check out the fits here. Be sure to 'Like' their Facebook, we'll be cross-referencing names. You have until next Tuesday the 29th, 11:59pm to enter. Good luck :)
A|X mixed denim moto jacket, Dolce Vita slip dress, Jeffrey Campbell boots, Michael Kors watch
Sneaked in a few photos of my outfit right before the downpour greeted us here in LA yesterday. Fickle weather - good thing I had brought this two-toned A|X jacket along. I'm really digging it, I feel like it could spruce up any simple piece of clothing and make it appropriate for day or night... my kinda staple item.
This weekend was sort of a whirlwind of things, but at the same time, not really. I felt WAY under the weather late Thursday/early Friday, but luckily for me the sickness (whatever it was caused by) disappeared as quickly and randomly as it had appeared. I'm not feeling exactly one hundred percent, but at least I can actually eat solids and taste my food, and function out of the confines of my bed. Such an exciting Friday and Saturday, let me tell you. Pressing on - as I was magically brought out of my sorry veggie state, the lover boy decided to drag me along in his pilgrimage to the LAX airport. I say 'pilgrimage' because we spent what seemed like five thousand years on the road, circling the place, thanks to the inexplicably horrific traffic that defines LA. Delirium ensued, yes. I was almost ready to ask the gods to put me back in my bed.
I'm really bummed I'll be missing out on the Swarovski Elements event tonight at the Luxe Hotel, but in lighter news, I'll be posting up a giveaway soon (like really soon). Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! x
Girlfriends Material sweater, H&M polkadot blouse, Kasil Workshop skinny jeans
Wore this cowl neck sweater from Girlfriends Material the other day, over a thin button-up, on a rather cold morning and to my surprise, it kept me completely warm. Is that what a cowl neck/turtle neck does for you? Haven't worn one in ages. Aside from the more practical aspect, I love the impractical huge cut-out from the back - it adds a bit of sass to an otherwise unexciting sweater. Enter "GFMNB30" at checkout on Girlfriends Material to get 30% off of your purchase.
As for the LuLu's giveaway, I'll be emailing Leah Goetzel soon (congrats!). For anyone else who is interested, the girls over at LuLu's are offering 15% off entire purchases with the code "NEONBLUSH" (case sensitive), good until the 22nd!
I'm on a giveaway kick this month (making up for the past year I've shied away from holding any haha) so stay tuned for one more coming up real soon. xo
Romwe jumper, J Brand coated skinnies, Zara pumps, Trend Essentials satchel, Michael Kors watch, JewelMint bracelet
I'm still stuck on the "Drive" movie soundtrack - I've been listening to it for weeks now, and I can't help but be inspired by it when I dress. That cool 80s vibe (maybe that's why I've been so attracted to wearing pumps), neon/brights, high-waisted skinnies. Pretty much sums up my outfit. I got these J Brand skinnies last week and I've already over worn them - of course, with cropped fuzzy sweaters because the high-waist cut makes it so appropriate. So fun, AND it miraculously adds an inch or so on the legs, eh?
P.S. Love this bag - my new "go-to." Trend Essentials is offering readers 20% off their entire order with the code "Jenny20". Abuse it, please :)
College feat. Electric Youth - A Real Hero
80%20 Spring 2012
Had the pleasure of meeting shoe designer CeCe this evening at the 80%20 Spring 2012 preview. It's always fun to meet down-to-earth people who really love what they're doing. CeCe's stuck with her ingenious idea of the "hidden wedge," and executed it perfectly for the upcoming seasons. I'm particularly in love with the black boots in the first picture - I could rock those every day.
1. Vintage denim vest, Causewaymall chiffon blouse, Kasil Workshop shorts, Jewelmint bracelet.
2. My favorite shoes at the moment... from Zara.
3. BDG plaid shirt, Kasil Workshop trousers.
4. Layered: Topshop cardigan, BB Dakota shearling vest from Threadsence, Forever 21 striped cardi.
5. Deena & Ozzy shoes.
Forgot about these! Only remembered I had these collecting dust as I was cleaning out my hard drive... P.S. Today's the last day to enter the BB Dakota sweater and $100 gc giveaway with LuLu's.
Romwe striped cardigan, Chicwish polkadot top, True Religion boyfriend shorts, Lucky Brand boots, Melie Bianco bag
Awkward pictures FTW. Caught here in mid-sentence, mid-tippy toe. That's what happens when you're the lazy one and your boyfriend happens to be the only one who remembers you have to update your blog with some new posts... thanks boyf.
It's starting to get really cold quick now and my evident affinity for boots is in high gear. Wondering if I should add these Lucky boots or these thigh-high JC beauties to my arsenal... the addiction gets bad when you slowly start to admit that your black boots kind of resemble the black pair sitting right next to it, and so forth. Eeks.
Forever 21 varsity jacket, vintage knit, A'GACI sequin skirt, Melie Bianco clutch, Jeffrey Campbell 'Starburst' boots
Casual night out to a hot pot dinner with the lover boy. Excuse the messy look - I hadn't intended on taking any photos for the blog until he actually pointed out that I hadn't taken a single shot of my skirt and shoes despite how many times I've worn them already. I'm much too attracted to shiny, metallic things as of late. I'd been trying to get my hands on a sequined skirt for some time now, and I love this one from A'GACI - shiny enough to fancy up a casual top. AND, aren't these Chloe-inspired JC boots to die for? I've gotten an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from random people on the streets about these babies. Love them.
P.S. the giveaway with LuLu's ends Monday, enter here.
Zara denim shirt/pumps/bag, Forever 21 floral skirt, Joe's Jeans leather jacket
Last weekend (when it was kinda-sorta-not-really warm enough to permit bare-leggedness) I got to catch up with a friend over brunch. Lately I've been attracted to clean lines and simple layers, and basically very few (if any at all) pieces of jewelry - this seemed like the best kind of outfit to go brunching in. Weird how I'm embracing minimalistic looks now that L.A.'s welcomed autumn.
I've been obsessing over similar silhouettes, especially the kind that a structured skirt gives you. This Forever 21 one is actually from years ago. I've kept it only because it maintains such a good shape, and it has an excellent print - perfect for the rare times I feel girlish. Also, this leather jacket (a definite staple!) has been a life saver, through the cold, the rain, etc. I see it in heavy rotation this season. Hope you guys don't get tired of seeing it. Anyway, I'm off to hit the sack - after work tomorrow, I'm heading over to Free People for a little preview of their new line of dresses! Excited.
P.S. The BB Dakota jumper and $100 giftcard giveaway with LuLu's is still on until Monday 11:59 pm. Go here for more info on how to enter! x
BB Dakota fringe jumper c/o LuLu's, Kasil Workshop 'Bolero' skinny, Blowfish 'Turn' boot, Forever 21 headband
My friends over at LuLu's want to gift this BB Dakota fringe jumper, along with a $100 gift card, to one of my readers. It's such a sweet sweater - cozy and fun, perfect for the upcoming months of winter. All you have to do is:
1. Check out LuLu's lookbook (upper left, above 'What's New') and leave a comment here telling me which is your favorite look. Don't forget your email!
The giveaway stays open until next Monday, 11:59 pm. Good luck and happy Monday! xo
Chicwish striped sweater, Kasil Workshop shorts, JewelMint ring, Guess wedges, Forever 21 headband
Happy weekend! As mentioned in a slew of posts before this one, it's not quite chilly yet, hence the short and one layer top combo. Walking out in this, I felt overly matchy-matchy - the striped sweater and the strappy wedges, the blues - but something about the sunglasses and headband breaking up the outfit (or 'making it', whatever that means) helped appease the scary thought.
I'm still working on the layout, I'm aware for some people my banner's not showing up and that the archive pull down menu isn't working. Gonna devote a bit of time this weekend to tweaking the HTML (you can pretend that you hear me grumbling). In the mean time, expect a giveaway early next week (early next week!). Hope you all have a fabulous Friday... I'm going to be having delicious sushi and watching a movie with my love.
P.S. thanks for all of your suggestions on what to do with my hair! I still can't seem to commit to one idea, though. I need serious help!
Forever 21 varsity jacket, Zara gingham/denim button-up, Kasil Workshop Minx skinnies, Sam Edelman Petty boots, Ray Ban wayfarers
I like to pretend that we have really chilly weather just so that I could layer and have an excuse to wear the many jackets collecting dust in my closet. In reality, my palms were a bit sweaty. Times like these I wish I were in New York - I really miss NY, and SF, too, for that matter.
These Kasil Workshop skinnies are THE best jeans I've worn. I love the fit, the feel, and the wash. The whiskering, the hue... all perfect for fall. Yes, the summery-ish fall that we're having, of course :)
Zara print top, American Apparel shorts, vintage belt
Still working out a few kinks but it's basically done, I think... my new blog, domain name, ta-da. Excuse the messiness, I'll clean it up some time soon.
My blog has turned one year old, and I've felt nothing but happiness and gratitude since I started it. Thanks for reading! I'm having a few giveaways happen (finally, I know right?), hopefully soon, in lieu of the bloggie anniversary. Stay tuned :)
